Located in the Stansted region of Essex, the House on the Hill Toy Museum houses an extensive collection of children’s toys and childhood memorabilia.
Opened in 1991 by Alan Goldsmith, the museum is presently curated and operated by Goldsmith and his son, Jeremy. Together, they oversee a vast array of toys and games that began as the senior Goldsmith’s personal collection. Over 70,000 objects in the museum include military toys, robots, model trains, children’s books, plush toys, dolls, board games, figures, toy soldiers, coin-operated machines, puppets, tin toys, and much more.
Alan and Jeremy have made guest appearances on the BBC, sought after for their subject matter expertise. Jeremy has also served as a consultant for the Antiques Roadshow series.
