Invented in the 1930s by Poughkeepsie, New York native Alfred Butts, Scrabble continues to be a go-to entertainment option for millions of word game enthusiasts. As a testament to the game’s longevity and play value, it was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2004.
A super-sized version of the game has been created by outdoor game manufacturer Hammer Crown. Giant Wooden Words includes a foldable, nylon game board that spans a whopping 39 x 39 inches. The set also includes 100 suitably proportioned wooden letter tiles and multiplier game cards.
Hammer Crown includes a nylon duffel bag, complete with handles and zipper closure, that makes the game simple to store and easy to transport when you travel. Giant Wooden Words checks in at $69.95 USD and is geared for 2-4 players, ages 8+.
