A brand-new cooperative board game from Renegade Game Studios for players ages 14 and up, G.I. Joe Mission Critical has players team up to take command of a squad of G.I. Joe heroes and work together to protect the world from the forces of evil. Armed with your own unique combat deck, you’ll coordinate attacks and defend different locations around the board — all while facing off against battalions of Cobra Troopers and going toe-to-toe with the likes of Baroness, Copperhead, and Cobra Commander himself!
If that’s not reason enough to “roll the dice” on this one, G.I. Joe Mission Critical has also been designed to be both expandable and completely customizable. Thus, in addition to the core box, the game also features several expansion sets that introduce even more Joes and bad guys into the fray. What this means, according to company founder Scott Gaeda, is that players can create their ultimate Joe team to go up against a varied number of threats that be can put together ahead of time for a truly challenging in-game experience.
So, what’s in the box, you ask?
The G.I. Joe Mission Critical core box, created in collaboration with Hasbro, features a number of classic characters from the popular ’80s cartoon — each represented as an unpainted miniature figurine. Standing about 44 millimeters tall, characters included with the core box include heroes Cover Girl, Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, and Stalker. Notable villains include Cobra Commander, Baroness, Dr. Mindbender, Major Bludd, and Copperhead, alongside 12 Cobra Troopers and 12 Crimson Guards, respectively.

Also included are six action dice, 50 hero combat cards, 20 foot-soldier combat cards, 24 lieutenant combat cards, eight nemesis combat cards, eight boss combat cards, one boss deployment card, one nemesis deployment card, three lieutenant deployment cards, and 20 foot-soldier deployment cards. The game also features five oversized character cards, six vehicle cards, one base tile, four location tiles, one hanger board, one battle board, one leader token, two foot-soldier supply tokens, four vehicle discount tokens, 12 action tokens, 30 hit tokens, four panic tokens, 20 energy tokens, and four location tokens.
