This Saturday, May 2, is Free Comic Book Day in North America. The event takes place annually on the first Saturday of May and is typically tied into the release of a superhero tent-pole movie and helps kickoff the start of Hollywood’s summer movie schedule. This year, the event coincides with the release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron from Marvel Studios.
Throughout the day, participating comic book retailers will give away specially printed copies of comic books for FREE. This year offers quite a potential haul of free comics – 50 in total! A quick scan of the comics on the list reveals a variety of genres that should appeal to a wide-range of age groups. Your favorite comic book shop may not be offering all 50 titles and/or may augment the list with some personal favorites, so it pays to call ahead and see what’s in stock.
Plan your next vacation to include a visit to a play-related store, museum, or private collection.
