Situated close to the harbour and surrounded by the hilly streets of St. John’s, lies North America’s most easterly comic book shop, Downtown Comics.
Owner Jason Conway opened the shop in 1997 after leaving behind his education as an accountant to pursue his true passion: comics. Twenty years later, Jason has a thriving shop that is a destination for locals and CFAs alike.
Visitors to the shop are in good hands. Jason and his team love great stories and illustration and will happily provide reading suggestions. The shop stocks mainstream comics and graphic novels, as well as a robust selection of unique reads. They even carry one of the Toy Tales contributors’ favourite books, The League of Regrettable Superheroes, by Jon Morris.
