2017 National Toy Hall of Fame Nominees

Matchbox Cars. My Little Pony. Transformers. These are three of the 12 finalists for the 2017 National Toy Hall of Fame at The Strong Museum in Rochester, NY. Other finalists this year include Clue, Magic 8 Ball, paper airplane, PEZ Candy Dispenser, play food, Risk, sand, UNO, and Wiffle Ball.

Established in 1998, the National Toy Hall of Fame serves to recognize innovative toys that foster creativity and have taken up residence in the hearts and minds of the public. Each year, nominated toys go through a rigorous review process to select two or three final inductees.

The 2017 finalists will be announced on November 9th.

This year’s inductees will join such classic toys as the Easy-Bake Oven, Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Star Wars action figures.
