Lee’s Legendary Marbles & Collectables – York, Nebraska

Lee’s Legendary Marbles & Collectables roadside attraction showcases the personal marble collection of Lee Batterton. Located off the I-80 in York, Nebraska, Batterton calls it “the only museum in the region dedicated to our favorite pastime.”

Batterton opened his informal museum in 2001 as a way to share his love of marbles. Claiming to have the largest marble collection in the world, Batterton has amassed an impressive variety that includes some dating back to the late 1800s, as well as pre-World War I marbles manufactured using uranium. The collection gives visitors a chance to learn some history and marvel at hundreds of handmade and machine-manufactured marbles in a dizzying array of colour, sizes, materials, and patterns.

Marble enthusiasts can visit the website to find examples of marble games. Lee also provides appraisal and consignment services. Admission to Lee’s Legendary Marbles & Collectables is free.
