Being Toyetic – Supporting Independent Toy Stores Everywhere
Toy Tales is proud to introduce Being Toyetic, an online resource that helps visitors locate an independent toy store wherever they live or travel.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down brick-and-mortar businesses of all kinds, independent toy stores were struggling. Heck, it was tough for the Toys “R” Us behemoth to compete with even bigger online retailers (we’re looking at you, Amazon).
The Being Toyetic website strives to make it easy to find neighbourhood toy stores everywhere. It provides a growing directory of independently owned neighbourhood toy stores. The directory can currently be filtered by country and state/province with a proximity search and mobile app planned for the near future.
The site includes a form to suggest toy stores for inclusion and offers simple tips to help your favourite independent stores thrive in today’s digital environment.
Being Toyetic was created by the ToyTales team in support of the independent toy retailers that our readers and contributors love. It was inspired by our conversations with Brian Volk-Weiss and his docu-series, A Toy Store Near You.
